ASTM A299 /A299M covers manganese, silicon carbon steel plate for used in welded boiler and others pressure vessels in steel grade A299 Grade A and A299 Grade B. ASTM A299 plates in 50 mm and under in thickness are normally supplied in the as-rolled condition. Plates may be ordered normalized or stress relieved, or both.

Carbon steel with Manganese-Silicon plate SA299 Grade A,SA299 Grade B under steel specification standard ASME SA 299/SA 299M.There are other two steel grades A299 Grade A and A299 Grade B owned the similar steel properity which is according to ASTM A 299/A 299M.As for the heat treatment, steel plate A299 Grade A and A299 Grade B equal and under 50 millimeter are normally rolled in the as-rolled condition,pressure vessel steel plate.
According to ASTM A299/A299M standard, steel plate A299 Grade A and A299 Grade B shall be chosed in the following technical conditions: S1.Vacuum treatment, S2. Product analysis. S3. Simulated post weld heat treatment of mechanical test coupons, S4. Additional tension test, S5. Charpy V-notch impact test, S6. Drop weight test, S7. High temperature tension test.

ASTM A299 Grade A boiler steel plate,ASME SA299 Grade A pressure vessel steel plate are specification for carbon steel and Manganese-Silicon. As for thin plate SA299 Grade A which produced from steel coil SA299 Grade A and furnished without heat treatment or just with stress relieving only,the additional requirements,including additional testing requirements and the reporting of additional test results shall be applied for A20/A20M steel standard.
